Marquis AG Sewage service is a traditional family business from north-western Switzerland, which has developed over the years into the leading provider in the field of sewer cleaning and the disposal of road sludge. Thanks to our approximately 120 employees, our more than 45 high-performance vehicles and also thanks to our high-tech equipment, we at Marquis AG provide our services to private homeowners, commercial and industrial customers and the public sector. Marquis AG is one of the leading providers of sewer services in Switzerland. The generic term sewer service includes sewer cleaning, manhole emptying, drain unclogging, sewer television, sewer rehabilitation and leak testing. As a company, we are committed to fair, friendly and personal contact with our customers, our suppliers and our employees. In this way, we can guarantee our customers professional execution and fast completion of all work.
Company history
Hard work, hardships, inventiveness, courage and willingness to work characterizes the first 12 years of the haulage contractor Guido Marquis, who grew into a young entrepreneur after delivering gravel for the highway, cleaning sewers and opening a waste disposal facility and was already using his flushing truck No. 4 in 1980.
The activities were constantly expanded and the truck fleet was added to with truck numbers 5 and 6. With over 20 employees, G. Marquis AG was also used for the Sandoz brand and once again demonstrated the company's efficiency and flexibility and its innovative spirit. In 1990 the 2nd generation entered business life.
Saw a new logo for the 30th anniversary. Green, “Marquis Environmental Protection”! The company is reorganized and the skip and composting business was sold. On July 7, 1995, the entire, newly renovated disposal facility was destroyed by fire. It was rebuilt through joint work and was inaugurated on September 12, 1997. At the same time, the 30-man G. Marquis AG was handed over to his son Andreas Marquis and his wife Beatrix. At the turn of the millennium, the company started with 20 more people in Reinach under the name A-Z Marquis AG.
Marquis AG is starting the new century with the expansion into the Mittelland, the development of a mobile separator treatment plant and the site evaluation for a central operating complex. Clearex Schweiz AG and Aquatec sewer renovations will complement the Marquis Group's business area from 2007/2008. On April 9, 2010, Marquis AG celebrated the laying of the foundation stone for its new headquarters in Füllinsdorf. In the same year, the company was awarded the contract to clean the Neat tunnel, a contract worth over 10 million francs. In March 2012 the final part, the disposal plant, began operations in Füllinsdorf. June 1st - 3rd, a big 50th anniversary celebration concludes the first 5 decades of the Marquis' history with a big party.
Today the Marquis Group is an impressive company that employs over 100 people. For what it has achieved so far, and certainly also for its commitment to market-driven innovation, Marquis AG was honored with third place at the Prix SVC Northern Switzerland at the end of 2013.

The company Rail & Road AG Sewage Service was founded in 2017. The company specializes in cleaning sewage pipes along tracks in train stations and tunnels.
Innovation continues to be a top priority and so the channel TV department is expanding its area and will be offering explosion-proof digital channel TV from 2020. In January 2021, the Marquis Group will take over the Urdorf-based company Gebr. Steiner AG, thereby strengthening its market presence in the greater Zurich area. After the transport and waste areas were separated, Gebr. Steiner AG is now called
Steiner AG Sewage Service and has been successfully integrated into the group. In 2022, Marquis AG will celebrate its 60th company anniversary.

ASTAG and the Marquis Group, as a member of the drainage technology specialist group, have been committed to environmentally and climate-friendly transport with trucks, small flushers and auxiliary units for years. By 2030, CO2 emissions from road transport are to be reduced by 50% compared to 1990 and significantly in the long term!
The goal is anchored in an ASTAG climate resolution of 2021. ASTAG and thus also the Marquis Group are acting in accordance with the Paris Climate Agreement and the climate strategy of the Federal Council: "we go green!"
