The Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) and the Basel Land Office for Environmental Protection (AUE BL) have drawn up new guidelines for emptying road manholes. The guidelines state that no contaminated backwash water may be drained into the manholes when they are emptied. This means that the sludge collectors have to be emptied by officially approved suction recycling vehicles. As an innovative company, Marquis AG Sewage Service started developing its own suction recycling vehicle many years ago. This vehicle, which meets the requirements of Swiss legislation, can de-water the sludge on site, recirculate the water and dispose of the sludge, which has thus been reduced in volume, in an environmentally friendly and legally compliant manner. TV bus with “explosion-proof system”
This sewer TV bus is equipped for areas of application with an increased risk of ignition such as gas stations, garages, chemicals, industrial, tank farms, etc. The entire camera system, pan head camera and steerable camera trolley with tilting option, is "explosion-proof" according to the II 2 G Ex px IIB T4 Gb standard. A 300-meter-long trolley cable, swivel head camera with integrated location transmitter, a high-pressure flushing unit, various cleaning nozzles and much more enable all types of work to be carried out in one operation.
With today's camera systems, several branch lines can be examined via the main line. Access via downpipes, washing troughs, etc. is no longer necessary. This can be done with a pin on the head of the camera, or when examining house connections from the municipal or city sewer using a satellite camera trolley with an additional sliding unit. The recording always takes place against the direction of flow.

On the trail of leaks with high-tech techniques
A sewer TV camera only provides visual information about the tightness of a sewer. A leak test must be carried out to check whether a repair site is actually leak-tight after a renovation. Rohrputz-Loriol is recommended as an accredited, neutral and independent testing center.

The cleaning equipment is supplied and operated with high-pressure water using our emergency vehicles. We use it to remove algae or moss growth and other deposits from terraces, paths, walls, or even swimming pools and sports fields in no time at all.
During persistent good weather conditions, the ground becomes dry and therefore hard. This makes it easy to reach lines and manholes that are normally only accessible with a heavy truck suction/flushing vehicle with additional tools (hoses, special reels, etc.) or not at all. During this time, reservoir overflow lines, field drainages and field path shafts can be optimally cleaned.
Flushing new buildings after completion of construction
In order to guarantee the safe functioning of the house sewage system after completion of new buildings and conversions, it is recommended to flush the sewage and meteoric water pipes immediately before moving in. The sewage pipes are often misused during construction work as a disposal facility for liquid and even solid waste such as rubble, concrete, construction foam, tools, polystyrene, etc. This waste can get stuck in the sewage system and cause blockages.
We recommend:
- Clean the dirty water lines
- Flush floor drains in the basement, laundry room, electrical room, etc
- Flush roof water and seepage drains
- Empty sludge collectors and pump shafts
- Channel TV investigation
- Leak test
- Repeat flushing the new building after 2 years (before the construction guarantee expires)
- Needs-based sewer maintenance of the waste water and seepage drains every 2 to 5 years
Preliminary investigation for sewage requests
A preliminary investigation for sewerage applications is now part of a building permit in most municipalities. The preliminary investigation shows the condition of the sewage pipes. The length, damage (such as roots, socket misalignment, cracks, shards, etc.), dimensions and materials are shown. The findings are given in a documented form (sewer TV protocol). In addition to the investigation, the current state of the sewage system is drawn on the plans, if it is not available as a sketch.
